Quick verdict
EcoContact 6 185/65 R15 88H Summer is a sensible shortlist if you need this exact size and want a value-led Continental summer tyre rather than a premium performance pick. The main trade-off is that the exact-size ADAC result points to strong fuel consumption and wear, but weaker wet-road and aquaplaning performance, so it suits careful everyday use more than wet-weather confidence chasing. Before ordering, confirm the 185/65 R15 88H size on your sidewall or vehicle placard and check the live price, stock and delivery on the retailer page.

What the retailer listing confirms
The retailer listing confirms Continental EcoContact 6 in summer specification with the tracked size 185/65 R15 88H. The page itself was not readable at the time of checking, so live checkout details such as final price, stock status, delivery cost and returns terms were not verified from the page itself. That means the safest approach is to treat the visible listing as a starting point only and verify the exact article, size and current terms before you buy.
What the independent evidence says
The exact-size independent reference for Continental EcoContact 6 185/65 R15 88H is the ADAC 2022 summer tyre result, where it scored 2.8 overall. The standout positives were fuel consumption and wear, which were both strong, while wet-road behaviour and aquaplaning were weaker points. Because this is exact-size evidence, it is more useful than family-wide reputation when you are deciding whether this tyre suits your driving and weather priorities.
Buyer trade-offs to weigh up
If you are comparing the Continental EcoContact 6 185/65 R15 88H against other tyres around the £95.74 starting price, the key trade-off is efficiency versus wet-road confidence. The ADAC 2022 exact-size test points to good fuel consumption and wear, but weaker wet-road and aquaplaning behaviour, so that matters if your driving often includes rain or standing water. In value terms, it sits below the comparable-product median, which can make it appealing, but you should still compare it with other summer tyres in the same 185/65 R15 88H class before deciding.
Price and value benchmark
The tracked starting price is £95.74, with a listed range of £95.74-£122.97 depending on the variant. That places it below the comparable-product median of £129.32, so it looks more like a value-led shortlist than a premium-priced option. There are 4 tracked variants here as well, which gives you more than one listing to compare before paying, but you should still check the live retailer price because checkout and delivery costs were not verified from the page itself.
How the specs compare with nearby options
The key specification here is 185/65 R15 88H, so the first comparison point is whether your vehicle needs that exact size, load index and speed rating. The summer season tag means you should compare it against other summer tyres first, then only broaden out if your own driving needs point elsewhere. Nearby alternatives in the wider Continental range include EcoContact 6 215/65 R17 99V Summer and EcoContact 6 215/55 R17 94V Summer, but those are different sizes and must not be treated as substitutes unless your vehicle requires them.
How much weight to give the review details
Broader family feedback should be treated as supporting context, not proof for this exact tyre size. A pooled merchant signal showed 4.88/5 from 87 family reviews and a 98% recommendation, but that is wider than the exact 185/65 R15 88H listing and should not outweigh the exact-size ADAC result. For this page, the exact-size test evidence carries more weight than general brand praise, especially where wet-road and aquaplaning behaviour are concerned.
Who this tyre suits
EcoContact 6 185/65 R15 88H Summer suits shoppers who need the exact size, want a summer tyre and are comparing value rather than hunting for the sharpest wet-weather performance. It is also a good fit for drivers who care about efficiency and wear, based on the independent test result and Continental’s wider EcoContact family positioning around reduced rolling resistance. If you are buying for an everyday car and you already know 185/65 R15 88H is the correct fitment, this is a credible shortlist item to compare against nearby options.
Who should look elsewhere
Skip this tyre if you need a different season, because Continental EcoContact 6 185/65 R15 88H Summer is a summer tyre and not a catch-all answer for winter or year-round use. You should also look elsewhere if you are unsure about fitment, because the size alone is not enough to confirm compatibility without checking your vehicle placard or current tyre sidewall. Shoppers who put wet-road confidence first, or who need verified run-flat or EV suitability, should compare other options because those points are not evidenced here.
Comfort, support and everyday use
For shoppers, the useful spec points are the load index, speed rating, wet grip, fuel efficiency and noise label where listed by the retailer. Here, 88H is the important fitment code to match carefully: 88 is the load index and H is the speed rating, so both need to suit your car and driving needs. This review cannot promise comfort or quietness from a road impression, so the best approach is to compare the label values and exact size against the alternatives you are considering.
Value check
On current evidence, this looks like a value-led Continental summer tyre rather than an outright category leader. The lower-than-median price, 4 tracked variants and exact-size availability make it useful for shoppers who want a practical shortlist, but the exact-size ADAC result shows that value comes with a wet-road compromise. Before you decide, confirm the live price, stock, delivery and returns terms, then compare against other tyres in the same size rather than assuming this is the universal winner.

Questions about this tyre
Is 185/65 R15 88H the exact size my vehicle needs?
Only your vehicle placard or current tyre sidewall can confirm that. The 185/65 R15 88H code must match your car’s required size, load index and speed rating before you order, because a similar-looking tyre is not automatically a fit.
Is EcoContact 6 185/65 R15 88H Summer a good buy if I care most about efficiency?
It is a strong shortlist if efficiency and wear matter more than wet-road confidence. The exact-size ADAC 2022 result highlighted good fuel consumption and wear, but also weaker wet-road and aquaplaning behaviour, so it suits a balanced everyday buyer better than a driver seeking maximum wet-weather performance.
Can I rely on the broader Continental or EcoContact 6 review score for this exact tyre?
Use it only as supporting context. A pooled family rating can help show general brand interest, but it does not prove how this exact 185/65 R15 88H article performs, especially where the independent test pointed to wet-road trade-offs.
What should I check before ordering if the retailer page had limited detail available during checking?
Check the exact tyre code, the live checkout price, stock, delivery cost and returns terms before you buy. For this Continental EcoContact 6 listing, the 185/65 R15 88H size is the key match, but the final seller details were not verified from the page itself.
Why does the review mention aquaplaning limits if the tyre is a summer model?
Because summer tyres still have to deal with heavy rain and standing water. The ADAC 2022 exact-size result for this EcoContact 6 highlighted wet-road and aquaplaning weaknesses, so it is sensible to weigh that against your local driving conditions.
