The table is filtered to researched tyre sizes: 235/60 R17, 235/55 R18, 235/50 R19, 245/45 R20, 245/40 R21. Compare the listed size against the current tyre sidewall first, then check load/speed rating, season and run-flat notes. This page is a 2020 Volvo XC40 fitment guide, not a universal tyre recommendation. The researched size groups in scope are 235/60 R17, 235/55 R18, 235/50 R19, 245/45 R20 and 245/40 R21, and only exact matches are included here. Fitment can change with trim, wheel option, market and any previous wheel changes, so the current tyre sidewall or vehicle placard should be checked before ordering. Volvo’s approved XC40 size information shows more than one wheel-and-tyre combination, which is why size confirmation matters before you compare price or season.
The shortlist is narrow and Continental-heavy, so the main trade-off is not between dozens of brands but between exact size, season and price. The Summer EcoContact 6 options cover 235/55 R18, 235/50 R19 and 245/45 R20 examples, while the AllSeasonContact 235/55 R18 100V gives a year-round convenience option in one of the researched sizes. Prices in the set run from £116.01 to £240.13, with a benchmark range also reaching £309.59 for one listed variant, so it makes sense to compare exact-size matches first and then weigh stock, delivery and brand familiarity.
Start with the sidewall or vehicle placard, not the 2020 Volvo XC40 nameplate on its own. Once you have the exact size, compare the load index and speed rating on the tyre listing against the tyre already on the car, and check whether the car currently uses run-flat tyres before changing format. Do not treat a near-looking size as interchangeable, and do not assume the same size applies across every trim or wheel option. After fitment is confirmed, season choice becomes the next practical filter: Summer for straightforward road use, or All season if year-round convenience matters more than swapping tyres seasonally.
The XC40 can be approved for different wheel and tyre combinations, so a single model year does not guarantee a single tyre size. A car with 17-inch wheels will not use the same tyre as one on 19- or 20-inch wheels, and a previous owner’s wheel change can alter what is actually fitted now. That is why the current sidewall and the vehicle placard should be checked together before you order, even if the model year is correct.
For this shortlist, exact size matching comes first: 235/60 R17, 235/55 R18, 235/50 R19, 245/45 R20 or 245/40 R21 only. The specific load index and speed rating on each Tyres.net listing should be checked against the tyre already on the car, because the same size family can appear with different ratings such as 100V, 103V or 104V. That matters most when you are comparing the 235/55 R18 EcoContact 6 options, where the listed rating should match the vehicle requirement, not just the width and rim size.
The retailer pages were not fully readable during checking, so current prices, stock and delivery still need a live look before purchase. There are also no visible review ratings for these shortlist products, so the safest way to compare them is by exact fitment, season and visible listing details rather than review volume. The strongest public comparison points are the confirmed sizes, the Continental product names, and the price spread from £116.01 to £240.13, which is enough to narrow the choice but not enough to justify a universal ranking.
For XC40 tyres, value starts with buying the right size, because a lower price is poor value if the tyre does not match the car. The Continental options here give a simple comparison set: EcoContact 6 summer tyres in 235/55 R18, 235/50 R19 and 245/45 R20, plus the AllSeasonContact 235/55 R18 100V as the year-round convenience option. Use the price spread as a sense-check rather than a winner signal, then confirm live stock, delivery terms and the exact size on the sidewall or placard before you order.

Yes. The approved sizes for this XC40 include 235/60 R17, 235/55 R18, 235/50 R19, 245/45 R20 and 245/40 R21, but trim, wheel option, market and prior wheel changes can alter which one is correct for your car. Check the current sidewall and placard before buying.
Check the tyre sidewall on the car first, then confirm it against the vehicle placard. If the markings do not match the size you expected, treat the sidewall and placard as the deciding check before ordering from Tyres.net or any other retailer.
Yes. The shortlist includes exact size matches, but the listing still needs to match the load index and speed rating already fitted to the car. If your XC40 currently uses run-flat tyres, verify that the replacement matches that requirement rather than assuming it does.
This page is intentionally narrow and compare-and-verify focused. It only includes exact-size matching Continental tyres from the checked shortlist, so shoppers can compare fitment, season and price without mixing in near sizes or unrelated alternatives.
